Petra was in town this weekend, visiting from Portland. It seems any time one of my friends comes around for a weekend I send them to my studio to tart up and make them pose for my camera. I am fortunately very blessed to have such an attractive and photogenic social circle. We blew through five hours in the studio yesterday, and then Lindsey, Petra, and I headed to the International District (with Qais in tow) for a much-deserved bubble tea.
This image was shot using a Lensbaby Composer and two 300 watt monolights. Master light (camera right) used a reflector and shoot-through umbrella, slave light (camera left) used a softbox.
I am also particularly fond of this shot, of Petra’s poetic upper back tattoo.
The rest of what I’ve managed to crank out of the editing software is/will be here. I am in the midst of ordering the remainder of the prints for my solo show, which I install next Sunday. Hopefully, after then, I can calm down and stop thinking in pixels, Pantone colors, and Photoshop docs for a while.
